The Rwandan 'Agri-preneur'

Rwa Chicks a poultry farm located in Gahanga, 5km away from Kigali is owned by 26 year old Francis Shaka who spends most of his time at the farm rearing birds.

To ensure hygiene at the farm and that his chicken are healthy, one has to dip his shoes in the vaccinated water at the entrance of the poultry farm.

Despite the fact that the biggest youth population of youths don’t see agriculture as a profitable opportunity, but rather, regard it as subsistence farming, or a dead end. Shaka believes that future of Africa is in Agribusiness.

When not at the farm, he spends most of his time marketing his products to find the clientele as well as training young people in agribusiness.
