In Nigeria, locals suggest traveling only short distances on the road. Traffic can be heavy and it can slow you down. But for short distances like from Lagos to Oyo, Oyo or Ebonyl State to Imo State the drive can actually be quite pleasant. Take UBER. That surprises you doesn’t it. UBER is actually cheaper than most taxis and can be found in 14 different African countries and keeps on growing. Not a fan? Use Taxify, it’s also all over the continent and just as easy to use as UBER.In Kenya, keep your instagram unique by skipping the touristy spots! Instead of going to every national reserve, go to places like the Chale Islands or Meru or Kitale. They are all beautiful, interesting and will make you feel like a local!Use mobile money whenever you can. Sometimes cash machines can go down, but Kenya’s MPESA is taken at most places and all you need is a local SIM card to set it up!Last, but not least, always have your hotel information handy. Address, phone number and cross streets. Not all drivers, know all hotels so make sure you do!
