KENYA BAN OF PLASTIC BAGS: PREVENTIVE OR CURATIVE?

The government of Kenya through the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources in a gazette notice number 2356 did ban the use, manufacture, and importation of all plastics bags. The propounders of the ban had brought forth a fact that the country had been on the receiving end from the effects of plastic bags which had been blamed several times during the rainy season as the causer of clogging of drains and rivers leading to flooding around the country especcially in urban areas, leading to the deaths of domestic animals and marine and also for being a perfect temporal breeding grounds for malaria causing mosquito.
